2016 – the year I drive my mr2!

As the year comes to end, many of us look back at what happened and make new year’s resolutions. Does anyone even make those anymore? How I bought the dream part 2

I planned out the trip to go buy the MR2 without telling anyone but a very good friend. The plan was for him to drive me there and I would come back in the MR2.

I called the MR2 owner a few times beforehand and arranged everything. The car was driveable. Hadn’t been started for a year, but he assured me it was driveable. It was all i needed. Continue reading How I bought the dream part 2

A bit of background

 

Before we dwell deeper into my story I first have to give you some background.

Getting my dream car is a bigger deal for me than for most people. Yes I am a car guy, but I haven’t always been one. I wasn’t one of those kids reading car magazines and car encyclopedias and what not. I spent my childhood days busy with other things (more on that later). I didn’t know or care much about cars.

Now I notice every single one of them on streets and can tell the make and model just by seeing a small cropped shot of a headlight.
